The Salankayanas one of the greatest Telugu kingdoms ruling from their heaven esque fortress capital of Eluru, feudatories of the Satavahanas and Niyogi Brahmins of the Salankayana Gotra have left multiple historical records that point to an interesting fact. That they ruled over Indonesia, Malaysia and Indo-China regions for centuries!

The first historical record are their charters and styles of inscription, their style of writing and iconography in Andhra, which find exact similarity but at a much later time in the Hindu colonies of Southeast Asia. Specifically in Indonesia. The styles point something far than just co-incidence or similarity.

According to multiple local folklores and legends, Jayasinghvarman a prince of the Salankayana dynasty from Eluru married a Sundanese/Indonesian (hailing from a kingdom that ruled all of Indonesia known as Salakangara Dynasty). Post his marriage. Jayasinghvarman later on went to start his own dynasty called Tarunmangara Empire.

The Map of Tarunmangara at its zenith.

Tarunmanagara Empire went to rule entire Indonesia for centuries to come. The inscriptional evidence, folklore and legends all point to a very big link.

The Telugu Niyogi Brahmin Salankayana Kings of Eluru had colonies in Malaysia, Indo-China, and Indonesia. Marrying into the ruling families of Indonesia, they began their own dynasties and from colonisers using the Telugu sword became rulers of those lands for centuries to come. Salakangara and Salankayana sound a lot similar, much of Salankangara and Tarunmangara’s earlier inscriptions have traces of Brahmin alphabet and Sanksritised Telugu.

The connection is far bigger than we know! Much of history, trade and political exchange and crucial court politics are missing! But the connection is strong. The unknown must be probed! As more and more facts might highlight the real lost power of the Telugu sword!

How powerful were the Telugu warriors to have conquered till Indonesia from their base capital as Eluru? The recent discoveries are indeed a proud fact to be further probed by those from Eluru and larger Telugu history observers!
